Related to Military Authority
means an entity established by a law to carry out functions which are capable, under that law, of being funded, partly or entirely, by money provided by the Government, and for which the Governor, the Cabinet or the Government has the power to appoint or dismiss the majority of the Board or other governing body;
means an independent public authority which is established by an EU Member State pursuant to the GDPR.
means the state highway commission, a board of county road commissioners or the governing body of a city or village.
means the authority specified in the Schedule appended to these rules and competent to impose any of the penalties specified in Rule 23.
local highway authority
means a highway authority other than the Secretary of State;
means any applicable supra-national, federal, national, regional, state, provincial or local regulatory agencies, departments, bureaus, commissions, councils or other government entities regulating or otherwise exercising authority with respect to the Licensed Technology or the Licensed Product in the Territory.
Governmental or Regulatory Authority
means any court, tribunal, arbitrator, authority, agency, commission, official or other instrumentality of the United States, any foreign country or any domestic or foreign state, county, city or other political subdivision.
Insurance Regulatory Authority
means, with respect to any Insurance Subsidiary, the insurance department or similar Governmental Authority charged with regulating insurance companies or insurance holding companies, in its jurisdiction of domicile and, to the extent that it has regulatory authority over such Insurance Subsidiary, in each other jurisdiction in which such Insurance Subsidiary conducts business or is licensed to conduct business.
Governmental Antitrust Authority
has the meaning set forth in Section 5.09(b).
means the board of county commissioners,
foreign regulatory authority
means a securities commission, exchange or other securities market regulatory authority in a designated foreign jurisdiction;
means any approvals, clearances, authorizations, registrations, certifications, licenses and permits granted by any Regulatory Authority, including any INDs, NDAs and MAAs.
relevant highway authority
means in any provision of this Order the highway authority for any area of land to which that provision relates;
Foreign Financial Regulatory Authority
shall have the meaning given by Section 2(a)(50) of the 1940 Act.
securities regulatory authority
or “SRA” means a body created by statute in any Canadian or foreign jurisdiction to administer securities law, regulation and policy (e.g. securities commission), but does not include an exchange or other self regulatory entity;
means all material authorizations, consents, permits, approvals, licenses, and exemptions from, and all filings and registrations with, and all reports to, any Governmental Authority whether federal, state, local, and all agencies thereof, which are required for the transactions contemplated by the Loan Documents and the conduct of the businesses and the ownership (or lease) of the properties and assets of the Borrower Parties.
means the Commissions and the Exchange;
Applicable Insurance Regulatory Authority
means, when used with respect to any Regulated Insurance Company, the insurance department or similar administrative authority or agency located in (x) each state in which such Regulated Insurance Company is domiciled or (y) to the extent asserting regulatory jurisdiction over such Regulated Insurance Company, the insurance department, authority or agency in each state in which such Regulated Insurance Company is licensed, and shall include any Federal insurance regulatory department, authority or agency that may be created and that asserts regulatory jurisdiction over such Regulated Insurance Company.
means (a) any federal, state, provincial or similar government, and any body, board, department, commission, court, tribunal, authority, agency or other instrumentality of any such government or otherwise exercising any executive, legislative, judicial, administrative or regulatory functions of such government or (b) any other government entity having jurisdiction over any matter contemplated by the Operative Agreements or relating to the observance or performance of the obligations of any of the parties to the Operative Agreements.
means, individually or collectively, any federal, state, county or local governmental department, commission, board, regulatory authority or agency (including, without limitation, each applicable Regulatory Agency) with jurisdiction over the Company or a Subsidiary.
means any government or any governmental agency, semi-governmental or judicial entity or authority (including, without limitation, any stock exchange or any self-regulatory organisation established under statute).
means any city or any public or private board or other body or organization chartered or otherwise established for the purpose of administering, operating or managing airports or related facilities, which in each case is an owner, administrator, operator or manager of one or more airports or related facilities.
means any: (a) nation, state, commonwealth, province, territory, county, municipality, district or other jurisdiction of any nature; (b) federal, state, local, municipal, foreign or other government; or (c) governmental or quasi-governmental authority of any nature (including any governmental division, department, agency, commission, instrumentality, official, organization, unit, body or Entity and any court or other tribunal).
Public health authority
means an agency or authority of the United States, a state, a territory, a political subdivision of a state or territory, an Indian tribe, or a foreign government, or a person or entity acting under a grant of authority from or contract with such public agency, including the employees or agents of such public agency or its contractors or persons or entities to whom it has granted authority, that is responsible for public health matters as part of its official mandate.
means the Federal Trade Commission, the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice, the attorneys general of the several states of the United States and any other Governmental Entity having jurisdiction with respect to the transactions contemplated hereby pursuant to applicable Antitrust Laws.
Securities Regulatory Authorities
means the securities commission or similar regulatory authority in each province and territory of Canada that is responsible for administering the Canadian securities legislation in force in such jurisdictions;
