Personal. Applications for leave of absence for personal reasons shall be made in writing to the Department Head with a copy to the Union. All employees must have one (1) year of service before any personal leave will be granted. A leave of absence may not be granted for the purpose of taking other employment, however, the term "other employment" shall not include elective, federal, state, county or municipal offices or union duties. The granting of such leave and the length of time for such leave shall be contingent upon the reason for the request. The department head may grant leaves of absence without pay for fourteen (14) calendar days or less without further authority of the County. Leaves of absence for more than fourteen (14) days shall be referred to the county executive by the department head with a recommendation, and all such leaves, if granted, shall be for a specified period of time.
Personal medical leave, serious health condition leave, or serious injury or illness leave covered by family medical leave may be taken intermittently or on a reduced schedule basis when certified as medically necessary. Employees must make reasonable efforts to schedule leave for planned medical treatment so as not to unduly disrupt the College’s operations. Leave due to qualifying exigencies may also be taken on an intermittent basis.
Personal. Subject to all of the other provisions of this Article IX, the Company shall indemnify any person who was or is a party or is threatened to be made a party to any threatened, pending or completed action, suit or proceeding, whether civil, criminal, administrative or investigative and whether formal or informal (other than an action by or in the right of the Company) by reason that the person is or was a director or officer of the Company, or is or was serving at the request of the Company as a director, officer, partner, trustee, employee, or agent of another entity or enterprise, against expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees), judgments, penalties and amounts paid in settlement reasonably incurred by him or her in connection with such action, suit or proceeding, if the person acted in good faith and in a manner the person reasonably believed to be in or not opposed to the best interests of the Company or the Shareholders, and, with respect to any criminal action or proceeding, if the person had no reasonable cause to believe his or her conduct was unlawful. The termination of any action, suit or proceeding by judgment, order, settlement, conviction, or upon a plea of nolo contendere, shall not, of itself, create a presumption that the person did not act in good faith and in a manner which the person reasonably believed to be in or not opposed to the best interests of the Company or the Shareholders, and, with respect to any criminal action or proceeding, had reasonable cause to believe that his or her conduct was unlawful.
Personal. Three (3) days leave of absence for personal, legal, business, household, or family matters which require absence during school hours. Application to the teacher’s Chief School Administrator for personal leave shall be made at least two (2) days before taking such leave (except in the case of emergencies) and the applicant for such leave shall not be required to state the reason for taking such leave other than that he is taking it under this Section. Unused personal leave will convert to sick leave.
Personal. Each employee shall be eligible for up to four (4) personal days for the purpose of conducting legal or business matters or other matters of a personal nature. Application for the four (4) days shall be made to the immediate supervisor and shall be made at least five (5) days before taking such leave (except in the case of emergencies) and the applicant for such leave shall not be required to state the reason for taking such leave. Personal leave may be taken at the employee’s discretion under the following rules:
Personal. Lines of Insurance will be administered solely in accordance with its provisions and no matter concerning Personal Lines of Insurance or any difference arising thereunder shall be subject to the grievance or arbitration procedure of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The administration of Personal Lines of Insurance and all the terms and conditions relating thereto, and the resolution of any disputes involving the terms, conditions, interpretation, administration, or benefits payable shall be determined by and at the sole discretion of the Insurance Carrier.
Personal. Personal leave not to exceed three (3) days a year shall be granted each monitor. Personal leave may be used for such occasions as religious holidays, graduation of members of the immediate family or personal business that cannot be performed at any other time. Personal leave is not to be used in place of sick leave or for vacation purposes. Personal leave is intended to cover emergency or critical business that cannot be performed at any other time. The accumulation of personal leave shall not exceed five days. Personal leave shall be requested in writing, giving the reason for the request to the Director of Safety and Security. When feasible, such request shall be made at least one (l) week prior to the date requested for such leave. A copy of this request shall be forwarded by the monitor to his/her immediate supervisor. The monitor is to be notified of the approval or denial of his/her request at least one (l) work day prior to the time for which leave is requested. Emergency arrangements for personal leave shall be made with the Director of Safety and Security and shall be confirmed in writing within three (3) days upon return to duty. The monitor shall also notify his/her immediate supervisor of such personal leave. Requests for personal leave on the day immediately preceding or following a school vacation period or holiday will not be approved, except under very unusual circumstances. Personal leave can be granted only when no compensation is received by the monitor from other than school funds. Personal leave shall be for personal business, which cannot be performed at any other time. Falsification of such leave shall be grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination. A monitor who resigns from employment effective April 1st or earlier in a school year shall be entitled to personal leave days on a prorated basis. The School District will deduct from the final paycheck a prorated amount for days which the employee used in excess of the prorated allotment. Likewise, the School District will pay the employee a prorated amount for accumulated personal leave which was not taken.
Personal. Each teacher shall annually be granted 21 hours for personal leave. This time shall be used for any purpose at the discretion of the teacher and may be taken in time periods of not less than one hour increments. No reason must be given other than personal business. Teachers shall be given an accounting of their unused personal leave time on each paycheck advice. Unused personal leave time shall be added to accumulated sick leave at the end of the school year up to the maximum for sick leave accumulation. Any teacher who is initially contracted on or after the first day of the second semester of any school year shall be entitled to one-half (½) of the foregoing annual amount of personal leave for that school year.
Personal property insurance insuring all equipment, trade fixtures, inventory, fixtures and personal property located on or in the Premises for perils covered by the cause of loss - special form (all risk) and in addition, coverage for flood, earthquake and boiler and machinery (if applicable). Such insurance shall be written on a replacement cost basis in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the full replacement value of the aggregate of the foregoing.
